How to be Productive
It is important to learn how to be productive, to ensure that you are utilizing the right amount of your time and energy, and getting exponential results in return.
There is a huge difference between being productive and being busy. The latter is where most people fall under.
Being a Yes!Man to everything and everyone can easily:
*slow down your productivity rate, And…
*Decrease your level of value, if you are not paying attention to the most important things.
Working and being productive consistently is not always fun! And it demands our time, energy and focus.
That is why it is important to practice these 3 habits if you are looking to maximize your level of productivity:
#1 Dismissing the Yes!Man Mentality
As you grow older, everyone wants a piece of your time, most especially — family and friends…
This can distract you from focusing on things that are important and personal to you, perhaps a project, a task, or your goals.
It is important to always remember not to dispel your energy and time easily. Create a sustainable schedule so you know how to fit everyone in.
You may probably be saying “Preye, tell us something we don’t know, I already have a schedule” who doesn’t right?
But it is one thing to have a schedule and another thing to keep to it!
It is always important to know when to spend time with your family, socialize with friends, and work on your projects. Keep it organized as much as you can…
And create room for emergencies, because things don’t always go as we plan sometimes, that’s normal.
#2 Keep Track of Your Time, Like You Would do Your Money!
It is pejorative to know how you spend every 5 mins of your time. I practiced this recently, and I noticed that I spend almost 8 hours of my time consuming YouTube contents.
I have always been a fan of YouTube, because that is where I learn about some content ideas, motivational tips and research on how to grow as an online personality.
I prefer learning on YouTube than actually reading a book, I am more of a visual learner, I guess..
Anyways, learn to keep track of every 5 mins of your time and see if you are actually doing something productive and useful with it, or you are just wasting it by being busy for nothing.
Time is Money….This saying is no joke! If you don’t keep proper track of how you spend each minutes, you may end up just being busy instead of being productive (there is huge difference).
#3 Learn to Relax More…
you don’t have to sleep 4 hours a day and work the remaining 20 hours. Trust me! You would burnout.
I know it feels cool and confident to think you are a “workaholic” or “hardworker”… You don’t rest, you work all day and burn the midnight oil, so on and so forth….
Sir! Relax, your health and mental wellbeing is at stake here…it may not affect your level of productivity now, but if you keep up with such pace it will eventually.
Relaxing is not an excuse to be lazy or to procrastinate, it is a requirement for your health.
Remember you have to be healthy to stay productive.
